"M" Class Altitude Record

Back to Altitude Records

Who:  John Rockdale

What:  44,961 feet

When:  June 19, 2004

Where:  Black Rock Desert

This was my own minimum diameter two-stage, using Aerotech motors: an M1315W and a K250. Unusual about this flight is that it was the first to use a gps unit to record altitude, and the first to use a carbon dioxide deployment device (in an altitude record flight). I have a detailed write-up of this flight elsewhere on this site called Project Tupelo.
