Tripoli Altitude Records

This page is intended as a "behind the scenes" or, "The 19th Hole" (for those of you who play golf) information source for each of the Tripoli open altitude competition records. I intend to contact the record holders and document the details of their flights here. This page is not intended to be the official record book for Tripoli. Moreover, Tripoli has changed the rules for altitude competitions, and now have separate categories for single and multi-stage flights. As a result, there are numerous holes in both sets of records. Until things fill out, I will be sticking to the original rules. The official records are published at the Tripoli site. Click a point on the graph for details of the flight.

The above graph shows the records in terms of altitude vs. the maximum total impulse for each class. Please note that the x-axis is logarithmic scale. I don't have a rationale for the log scale other than it seems to fit the data.
I still have not been able to make contact with Richard King, so if you have contact information for him, please e-mail me. Thanks.
